If you're moving to a new state and planning to fly there instead of drive, you may think you'll have to live out of a suitcase for a bit until the movers arrive with all of your stuff. You have another option, though.

Some of your belongings can go via air freight, which means that while the movers handle most of your stuff, you can get more of the goods right after you arrive. There are pros and cons to this, of course, but you may find that using an air shipment service for several items could make your life a lot easier.

More of a Life from the Start

When you drive to a new home, you can stuff your car full of belongings and have a relatively decent home life set up within minutes of arriving. But if you're shipping your car and flying, it's harder to bring along a lot of stuff due to airline luggage limits. That's where air shipping shines because you can get a lot of items soon after you arrive, instead of waiting for the movers to reach your new state. If you don't want to be limited to just a couple of suitcases for a while, air shipping is a brilliant option to use.

Careful Packing

Heavier items should go with the movers or a ground freight service that focuses on square footage taken up in the truck, rather than weight. Lighter items (like clothing, the contents of your file cabinet, and so on) can go via air shipping. If you can divide your belongings like this, then using air shipping as an option would work well. If you have to ship heavy items, though, be aware of how the costs might add up.
